I, the founder of Thousand, was a longtime cyclist who never wore a helmet, until I lost a friend to a fatal bike crash. This tragic event prompted me to get to work designing a helmet that people would actually want to wear, instead of settling for the "sci-fi" looking options on the market.

We named our company "Thousand" as a goal to help save 1,000 lives by making helmets that people desire to wear. This name serves as a daily reminder of why we do what we do.
